Dear Friends,

Religious Freedom Week concluded this past Thursday on the solemn feast of Saints Peter and Paul, June 29.  This US Bishops’ initiative invited us to reflect on the gifts and challenges to Religious Freedom in our modern world, both at home and worldwide.  Religious Freedom is rooted in human nature created byGod and therefore is a fundamental human right.  It invites us to build a culture of respect and dignity for human persons by sharing the truth and seeking God.

Dear Friends,

This past Thursday, June 22, the feast of Saints Thomas More and John Fisher, saw the start of Religious Freedom Week 2023 sponsored by the US Bishops.  It is an invitation to promote religious freedom in our country and our world.  It will conclude on June 29, the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul.  The Bishops Conference has a theme for each day for us to pray, reflect, and act.  For more details and information use this link from the Bishops’ webpage ~ https://www.usccb.org/committees/religious-liberty/religious-freedom-week .

Dear Friends,

Have you noticed the Sacred Heart statue has been placed into its new setting, outdoors near the Chapel?  It was completed in time for the feast of the Sacred Heart!  We blessed it on the feast day, after the 9 AM Mass.  Now this statue of Jesus welcomes in a special way our parish family, coming from the back parking lot.  Be sure to take a look and even a picture.  The statue of Jesus and of Mary in the grotto were both cleaned by the marble company as part of this project.
