Dear Friends,

This weekend is known as Good Shepherd Sunday as the Gospel each year speaks to us about Jesus, the Good Shepherd.  The image richly offers much for pondering and meditating.  Jesus is truly the One who has come in search of us, seeking us out and carrying us gently on His shoulders, in His arms, back to His Father and ours.  What greater love is there than laying down one’s life?

How grateful are our hearts to Jesus, who humbly continues to be present for us and with us in the Most Blessed Sacrament.  Truly, a prisoner of love in the Tabernacle, He gives us Himself ~ Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity ~ in Holy Communion.  Come let us adore Him!  Did you see the results of our Lenten Eucharistic Challenge?  Over 1,000 visits to Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament.  Let’s keep visiting Jesus in these days as well.

Dear Friends,

As you most likely are aware, the beautiful grand piano that we have been using since February is due to be returned to the company, Jacobs Music in Philadelphia.  We had entered into a short-term lease with them for it.  It is a very fine musical instrument.

Out of the blue, on Palm Sunday, two different parishioners at two different Masses approached me and asked if the piano could be purchased by Saint Eleanor and that they were both very willing to donate towards such a purchase.  Several days later at the parish office, another parishioner also expressed the same sentiment and interest.

Dear Friends,

On this octave (Eighth) Day of Easter, the alleluias and joy of Jesus’ resurrection continue to ring throughout our world. Allow the joy and the rejoicing of His resurrection to permeate your entire being ~ body, mind, soul.

This Second Sunday of Easter is also called Sunday of Divine Mercy. There will be a Holy Hour at 3 pm today in Church with the recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Benediction. Come and experience a tremendous outpouring of God’s mercy and grace. Those who participate may receive a Plenary Indulgence under the usual conditions. Saint John Paul II gave this feast to the Church through the visions of Saint Faustina. God is eternally Merciful. He wants all of us, His children, to receive the fullness of His Mercy and to share that mercy with one another.
