Dear Friends,

Welcome to Easter Sunday 2023!  We are all so glad that you are here!  This is the highest and greatest feast of the year.

He [Jesus] is not here, for he has been raised just as he said.  Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead…’”  These words of the Angel to the women at Jesus’ tomb on that first Easter Sunday filled them, and they fill us, with wonder, amazement, and joy!  The Resurrection of Jesus is His definitive victory over sin, over death.  In and through Jesus, we too share in that victory.  We share here and now through Baptism the very life and love of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We are partakers of divinity.

Dear Friends,

We have arrived at Palm Sunday.  Palms will be blessed and distributed at each Mass this weekend.  The blessing with procession will take place at the Noon Mass.  Having experienced a shortage last year, we increased the palm order this year.  At the conclusion of Mass, there will be no recessional hymn; the ministers of Mass will leave in silence as a preparation for the Sacred Triduum.

Dear Friends,

Week five of Lent has arrived…  next Sunday is Palm Sunday and Holy Week!  How has it been?  This season goes by so quickly, doesn’t it.  Whatever our journey has been thus far, today is the day to renew, begin again, or continue persevering on this our Lenten journey.  Jesus is with us and when we turn to Him, He lights the way, guides us, strengthens us, and renews us.
