Dear Friends,

Have you noticed the Sacred Heart statue has been placed into its new setting, outdoors near the Chapel?  It was completed in time for the feast of the Sacred Heart!  We blessed it on the feast day, after the 9 AM Mass.  Now this statue of Jesus welcomes in a special way our parish family, coming from the back parking lot.  Be sure to take a look and even a picture.  The statue of Jesus and of Mary in the grotto were both cleaned by the marble company as part of this project.

I wish to give an update concerning our Sacred Music Fund, which was initiated due to the interest of our parishioners.  To date we have received $68,370.00.  And the very good news is that the very first donation, from Clara Gorski, was a check to pay the entire cost for the Steinway piano.  We are truly grateful for such a generous contribution from Clara.  We also are very grateful for all the donations that have come in and continue to come in for our Sacred Music program.  As I mentioned previously there are costs to be covered and funds are needed for a new organ.  We are on the way.  God bless you all.  Envelopes for your donations to this Sacred Music Fund can be found at the entrances of the Church.

As you know, Matt Kirsch, our Youth Ministry Director, has moved on to a new position with Norristown Hospitality Center.  We are currently looking for someone to be our Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry.  We have posted the position with the Archdiocese through their usual means and requested the assistance of the offices of the Archdiocese in this search.  Keep this effort in your good prayers.

Our seminarian, Jude Arkesh Ragel, who lives here when the Seminary is not in session, is also assigned here this summer for his summer apostolate experience.  We are very happy to have him with us and for the assistance that he is providing to the parish.  It is fascinating to learn more about Sri Lanka and our worldwide Church family.

Our Corpus Christi procession, last weekend, was very inspiring as we walked from the Church to Locust Street to Sixth Avenue and then onto our front lawn for the outdoor Benediction.  It was a very warm and sunny afternoon which increased our appreciation for the cold treat.  There were many compliments and wonderful conversations.  Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Mass and procession so truly inspiring, from the musicians to those who set up and took down the outdoor speakers and altar, to those who coordinated the cold treat, and to all who participated in the Mass and procession.  We are truly blessed.

Now that school is out, may all of you have the time and opportunity to enjoy these summer months with family and friends.  May it offer you the opportunity to leisurely read more about our Lord and to grow in our Faith.  We never vacation from God, Who is always with us, so be sure to check out Mass times on the available apps on the internet wherever you may travel.

God bless you, God love you,

Monsignor McCulken
