Dear Friends,

This weekend is Two Dollar Sunday, and I will speak at all the Masses. Thanks for your patience.

We are looking forward to Bishop McIntyre’s visit on Saturday, October 21 for Confirmation. We have 143 young parishioners who will receive the fulness of the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands and anointing with Sacred Chrism. They will become fully initiated members of the Mystical Body of Christ and entrusted with living and sharing the Gospel in our world. Pray for them and all of us to be open to the Holy Spirit day in and day out so as to accomplish the Will of our heavenly Father here on earth.

Dear Friends,

As I write this column, the Phillies have won their first Wild Card playoff game. Go Phillies! And of course, the Eagles are undefeated after 4 games. Go Eagles! A winning October for our sports teams.

This weekend we welcome and greet Father John Stokely to our parish family. Father spent this past week getting oriented to our parish with the priests, staff, and school. He will introduce himself at the Masses this weekend. We are very happy to have him here with us and look forward to his priestly ministry among us. Be sure to introduce yourself to Father when you see him around. We extend to him our traditional warm Saint Eleanor welcome!

Dear Friends,

September, as I mentioned before, is a very busy month, and always is here. But here we are at October which is looking very full as well. This weekend we say goodbye to Father Graebe as he concludes his priestly ministry among us and prepares to transfer to Saint Andrew Parish, Newtown. We wish him every blessing and grace in his new assignment and thank him for his priestly ministry here. We know the people of Saint Andrew will be blessed by his ministry.
