Pastor's Reflection
4th Sunday of Easter 2022
Dear Friends,
What an exciting and busy weekend for our parish family. Saturday, we celebrated two Masses for First Holy Communion. How precious to witness our children receiving Jesus for the first time. As disciples of Jesus, we firmly believe and proclaim that Holy Communion is not a symbol or a memorial or a remembrance but actually the true and real Jesus, His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. What a truly unbelievable gift of love from our saving Lord. We become joined, in communion with, Him in a real way. May I ask that you offer a prayer of thanks and intercession for these young disciples and their families.
3rd Sunday of Easter 2022
Dear Friends,
The joy of Easter and the Resurrection continue to overflow in our readings this weekend, the Third Sunday of Easter. It will be this way until Pentecost. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the event, the message of the Apostles’ preaching, the reason for the Church. We become members of the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ, through our baptism into His death and resurrection. The Holy Spirit comes to us so that we also may be Jesus’ witnesses, sharers of His resurrection to all.
2nd Sunday of Easter: Divine Mercy Sunday 2022
Dear Friends,
This Sunday is the octave (eighth) day of Easter, so once again Happy Easter! The Resurrection of Jesus from the dead is such a staggering event, such an astounding and history changing event, that it cannot be contained to one day. We celebrate it all eight days. In fact, the Easter season lasts fifty days, right up to Pentecost.
