Pastor's Reflection
6th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear Friends,
This weekend, the prophet Jeremiah tells us, “Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose hope is the LORD.”
If we place our trust in the things of this passing world or in human beings, we will be let down. Making Jesus first in our lives allows us to have our relationships with others and our use of the things of this world in proper order. Jesus is life itself and He vivifies our love.
5th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear Friends,
When I went to the USCCB website to check on the readings for this weekend, I was intrigued with a picture of an obviously just married and very joyful couple coming out of Church and the announcement for National Marriage Week (February 7-14) and World Marriage Day, next Sunday, February 13. In the midst of winter’s doldrums, we are invited to partake in “an opportunity to focus on building a culture of life and love that begins with supporting and promoting marriage and the family.”
4th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Dear Friends,
As noted last weekend, this Sunday begins Catholic Schools Week. We are profoundly grateful and proud of our Faculty, Staff and Administration of Holy Cross Regional Catholic School for all they are and do for our youngsters. With the assistance and support of an active School Board, Holy Cross continues to make strides in all areas of faith formation, education, facilities, technology, and finance. Check out their website and/or plan a visit to the school ~ https://www.hcrc.school/.
Next Sunday is the kickoff for the Catholic Charities Appeal 2022. Last year our parish family did an outstanding job on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of people who receive help and support through Catholic Charities. Our parish family raised $137,686, 102% of our goal. This year our parish goal is $135,000.
