Dear Friends,
I hope you are still looking out for our Two Dollar Sunday! It’s coming to Saint Eleanor soon. Hint: not until after Labor Day weekend. Keep watching.
Many of you know Jean Phillips, not simply by name but personally. She is the Administrative Assistant in our parish office. Jean’s tenure in the office spans eighteen and a half years. She possesses a wealth of information about so many of the things that take place here in the parish. Jean’s service to the clergy, staff, volunteers, and parishioners arises out of her deep faith, extending great care and concern for others. Jean is preparing for retirement, effective October 20, 2023. She will be greatly missed! We wish her every blessing and grace in this new adventure in her life!
Our parish office is a hub of activity, and this position is an integral one. We are searching to fill it now. The responsibilities include general office work such as answering phones, coordinating and drafting various schedules, preparing mailings, keeping and updating the parish data systems and sacramental records, assisting the priests, along with welcoming visitors to the office and helping with their varied requests or needs.
We are looking for someone with the heart of a missionary disciple, who exemplifies our core values of being joyful, all in, and contagiously faithful. The candidate for this full-time position needs organizational skills, an eye for detail, a good work ethic, ability to be a team player, communication skills, good computer skills and maintain confidentiality.
As a parish family and staff, we strive to offer a welcoming and hospitable environment within our parish, knowing that it is friendship that leads to discipleship in Jesus Christ. If you have an interest or would like more information, please contact myself or Linda Coyne at the parish office.
We also continue to search for a Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. We have had some interest and some interviews, but the search goes on. Please check the website for the job description. Pray to the Lord that we find the right candidates for both positions in accord with His plan.
School is about to start up again. For some, it already has. You know I must ask the proverbial question, where did summer go? Hopefully, you had an opportunity for some fun, relaxation, and vacation. In the joy of the Holy Spirit, we move forward excitedly for our upcoming Forty Hours Devotions with Father Andrew Auletta preaching. Jesus awaits us to visit and spend time with him. Check the large sign-up board in the narthex and make an appointment with Jesus. He loves us beyond all human understanding!
God bless you, God love you,
Monsignor McCulken
